First Year Experience
The Office of First Year Experience and Family Connections (FYE) is excited to announce the official name change to Student and Family Connections. This change will be effective June 1, 2023 and was based on the decision to become more accessible to all UCCS students.
Supporting every student in achieving their collegiate goals
First Year Experience (FYE) cultivates connection to resources, fosters a sense of belonging, generates learning, and provides individualized support to assist students in reaching their academic and personal goals.
Connect with your experience
Sense of Belonging
From the First2Go Program and Learning Communities to Mentor Collective, First Year Experience provides opportunity for students to connect with one another and communities on campus that promote learning, friendships and networking, and a place of belonging.
Individualized Support
Peer coaches meet with students to get to know them, listen to their stories and experiences, and gain an understanding of their goals. They come alongside students to create a plan for achieving those goals - whether personal or academic - and help to connect them to additional resources as needed to accomplish their plan.
Resources
Early Alert, and the variety of outreach and support offered to check in with students, allows for touch points that encourages students to explore and connect with resources on campus.
